Happy Father’s Day.
I will be brief so that you can get right to this Sunday’s video offering — a wonderful message on YouTube.
My father was born in 1918, the year of the Spanish Flu. He grew up in the family grocery store. He worked there for his father, who worked there for his father. When I started work at the store, I was the fourth generation. Dad was US Navy in WW2. I was three when he came home. Those long-ago, deeply personal memories are now recalled with fondness and nostalgia.
The YouTube video, Dr. Rick Rigsby’s unforgettable and inspiring speech, “Lessons from a Third Grade Dropout,” was forwarded to me by Ron, and I thank him for doing so. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg_Q7KYWG1g
To all fathers and to everybody else: Please enjoy today.
