Martina Schmidt

Martina Schmidt serves as Investment Advisor Representative and is responsible for giving investment advice to Cumberland Advisors’ diverse private wealth clients.

Martina has over 25 years of practical experience in financial research and analysis, financial education, corporate training, financial management, business consulting, and real estate investments and sales. As a long-time Professor of Instruction in Finance at University of South Florida, Martina has taught the topics of corporate finance, financial modeling & analytics, international finance, and real estate. She has served on many university and professional committees, received numerous research and teaching awards, has given diverse conference presentations, and published in numerous peer-reviewed journals on the topics of real estate, investments, global finance, financial fraud, finance education, and online learning.

Martina was a former world-ranked tennis player and university tennis coach. She has won a multitude of academic and athletic awards, which have earned her a place in the Athletic Hall of Fame at the two universities she attended.

She has also worked for an international aviation company and a commodity trading advisory firm. In addition to being a licensed Investment Advisor Representative since 2024, an active Florida Real Estate Broker since 2006, and holding an MBA and Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University, she has also completed continuing professional education in many areas, such as artificial intelligence and FinTech.
